About Us

Created to Serve & Heal

State of the Heart Recovery Center (SHRC) is a non-profit, all-inclusive treatment center for substance abuse (including opioid addiction). We are unique in that our holistic approach addresses all aspects of an individual’s emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being. Our programs incorporate traditional evidence-based treatments (e.g., group therapy and individual counseling), cutting-edge technology (e.g., 24/7 outreach support through mobile apps with integrated biometric feedback), and self-care therapies (e.g., massage and group fitness).

In addition with helping clients navigate recovery, we also lay the groundwork for successful reintegration into a sober lifestyle. Through our Comprehensive Community Support Services, our certified peer support workers (CPSW’s) work with individual clients to provide guidance and support with employment, education, housing, nutrition, and other necessary life skills. We ensure our clients have the tools to succeed and to become a member of our community.

Angel “Fernando” Calleros

Operations Manager
My name is Angel Calleros. Before, I was generally known by my middle name, Fernando. After three years of being drug-free, I made the change back to my first name. I have a passion for helping the addicted and homeless people of New Mexico. I want to aid them in finding a better path. I have certifications; however, what is important to me is what adversities in life I overcame. It’s this experience that allows me to connect deeply with those on their own path to sobriety.
